A call for for Submission of Works:
The Union on Odessa invites you to enter the
Key Ingredient Juried Exhibition.
This exhibit will be on display from April 5th, 2021 through May 16th, 2021 at The Union on Odessa in Tallapoosa, GA. This show will showcase artwork surrounding a “Key Ingredient” theme.
The inaugural exhibit was held a few years ago and featured “Food” as they key ingredient. All works in that show were at least loosely based on food. There were paintings, drawings and photographs of things like eggs, farm animals, bowls of food, and a child with a messy, food-covered face.
Since we have a newly refurbished space, we have chosen “Redone” as the Key Ingredient for this exhibit. All works must have something to do with that key ingredient theme.
The Opening Reception will be April 5th ay 7PM. All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing. The Union is a small venue and will allow in only a small number of visitors at a time. Please be patient and understanding if you plan to attend. Show hours will be limited, but appointments for viewing can be made by contacting the Union staff.
RULES:
All submissions are to be entered via photo in jpg format not to exceed 2MB. Each jpg file should be named in the following format:
Name of piece_name of artist_medium_dimensions of frame.jpg
Entry fee for the show is $20. Artists may enter up to 3 pieces for one entry fee. Paying the entry fee does not guarantee an artist’s work or works being accepting into the show. Please include in a description of the work and how or why it fits the “Redone” theme in your email. The interpretation of how your work fits the subject will be between you and the show juror. The Show Juror’s decision for acceptance and for prizes is final. No entry fees will be returned.
Recognitions will be made for:
- Best of show
- Best Photo
- Best painting
- Best drawing
- Audience Favorite
- Union Favorite
“Best of…” winners will be determined by the Juror. Audience Favorite will be determined by visitor’s votes. Union Favorite will be chosen by members of The Union on Odessa LLC. The Union is also seeking local businesses to choose their favorites and provide incentives/rewards.
Works may be listed for sale at the show. If you wish to list you work for sale during the show, please note the price in the entry email. The Union will charge a 10% fee for any works sold at the show.
All show submissions must be received by March 17th. Entry fees can be submitted via PayPal or by check. Submissions will not be considered without an entry fee. Entry fees will be used to pay for show and venue expenses.
If your submitted work is accepted, you will be notified via email. All accepted works must be delivered to The Union on Odessa April 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Times will be stated in the acceptance email. All pieces should be delivered framed and ready to hang. Pieces brought late or improperly framed for hanging may be rejected with no refund of entry fee. No pieces are to be removed from display during the duration of the show. After the conclusion of the exhibit, all works should be picked up May 16th between 4PM and 8PM. Only the submitting artist with valid ID may pick up their works. Alternate plans can be made for pickup if you are not available at that time. Please discuss when you deliver the works for the show. For pieces that are sold during the exhibit, arrangements for pickup at the exhibit’s conclusion must be made with the Union at the time of purchase.
